Exercise 1(D)
1. Sundar painted 25 m 80 cm of the fence before lunch break and 8 m 28 cm after lunch. How much fence did he paint altogether?
A. Before lunch break = 25 m 80 cm
After lunch break =8 m 28 cm
Altogether he painted =25 m 80 cm + 8 m 28 cm
=34 m 08 cm
2.A roll of rope contains 86 m 35 cm length. If 37 m 72 cm of the rope is used then what length of the rope is left behind?
A. Total length of the rope = 86 m 35 cm
Length of the rope used = 86 m 35 cm
Length of the rope left behind = 86 m 35 cm - 86 m 35 cm
= 48 m 63 cm
3. Reena walked 2 km 500 m on Monday, 3 km on Tuesday and 5 km 100 m on Wednesday. What was the total distance walked by her in three days?
A. Distance she walked on Monday = 2 km 500 m
Distance she walked on Tuesday = 3 km
Distance she walked on Wednesday= 5 km 100 m
Distance she walked in three days = 2 km 500 m + 3 km + 5 km 100 m
= 10 km 600 m
4. The distance between two towns is 682 km 800 m.A bus has covered 391 km 282 m distance. How much distance is left to be covered?
A. Distance between two towns = 682 km 800 m
Distance that the bus covered = 391 km 282 m
Distance left to be covered = 682 km 800 m - 391 km 282 m
= 291 km 518 m
5. Sahil runs along the sides of a field which measures 35 m 52 cm,28 m 65 cm,34 m 70 cm and 26 m 57 cm respectively. What is the total distance Sahil has to run to complete one round of the field?
A. Length of the sides of the field = 35 m 52 cm , 28 m 65 cm,34 m 70 cm and 26 m 57 cm
The Distance he has to run to complete one round
= 35 m 52 cm + 28 m 65 cm + 34 m 70 cm + 26 m 57 cm
= 99 m 13 cm
